Desktop and PDF printing lets you design badges in any custom size and export them as PDF files. You can print these files on a standard office printer or send them to a professional print vendor.
This option is ideal if you are not using a supported Diobox badge printer and prefer full control over layout, paper type, or printing method.
This article covers the following the topics:
Set a Custom Badge Size
If none of the preset badge templates match your printer or label sheet, you can define your own dimensions. This is done in the Badge Builder using the Printers & Media and Dimension options:
From the Printers & Media, set the Printer Model to Generic Printer (PDF Export).
This enables the Badge Dimension setting so you can enter a custom width and height for your badge.
After saving, the canvas updates automatically to reflect the new size. You can then design your badge as usual using text fields, images, and QR codes. You can also select any color for objects because you are not limited by specific printer constraints.
Generate a PDF for a Single Guest
To generate a PDF for one guest:
Go to the guest’s profile
Open the Options dropdown
Select Print Badge
Then, you can select the appropriate Badge Template and download the personalized PDF. All guest fields and the QR code are generated specifically for that individual.
Under Advanced Settings, you can adjust the resolution if your printer has specific requirements. The default setting is 300 dpi, which is the standard for high quality printing.
Generate PDFs for Multiple Guests
To export badges in bulk, select multiple guests by clicking the checkbox to the left of the guest. Once you start selecting guests, you will see the option to Select All as well all the actions bulk actions, including Print Badges.
Because bulk exports may take longer to process, the system generates the files in the background. Once complete, you will receive an email with a ZIP file containing individual PDF badges for each selected guest.
Each file is fully personalized and ready for printing.
Printing with Avery or Label Sheets (Coming Soon)
Avery and similar label sheets allow you to print multiple badges on a single page using a standard desktop printer.
Upcoming support will allow you to select a specific Avery template directly within the Print Badge flow. The system will automatically position each badge to match the selected sheet layout, so you can print cleanly aligned badges without manual adjustments.
This will simplify bulk badge production for events that rely on pre-perforated label sheets or multi badge layouts on standard paper sizes.
