Diobox public registration and ticketing forms offer advanced options to control how guests are added to your event. These settings help manage duplicate entries and restrict access based on your event’s needs.
Guest Creation Options
Each form can be configured with one of the following behaviors:
Always Create a New Guest
A new guest profile is created for every submission, regardless of whether the email matches an existing guest.
Use this setting if you expect multiple submissions from the same email.
Prevent Creating Duplicate Guests
If a guest with the same email already exists in the event, their registration or ticket will be saved under their existing profile.
Ideal when guests are expected to register multiple times or purchase additional tickets after registering.
Guest matching is based on email address.
Restrict Access to Existing Guests
Only guests already added to the event can register.
If the submitted email does not match an existing guest, the registration gets blocked.
Useful when:
Ticketing is not open to public and is limited only to guests already imported in your event.
You’re using an external email invite system and want to restrict a public form to imported guests.
Note: This option behaves like RSVP Forms but does not require using Diobox’s email invitations. Instead, it allows sharing a single public link while still restricting access.
How to Configure Guest Creation Settings
1. Go to your form.
2. Click More > Edit Attributes.
3. Scroll to the Guest Creation section.
4. Select the desired option.
Guest Experience
The form experience remains unchanged, but if Restrict Access to Existing Guests
is enabled and a user’s email is not found, the following error appears after submission:
Error: That email isn’t on the guest list for this event. Please contact the event organizer.
To prevent issues with multi-guest submissions, set the Max per Submission (or Max per Order for ticketing) to 1. This ensures that all registrations are validated against your guest list one-by-one.
