Setting Up Your Printer for Badge Printing
Setting Up Your Printer for Badge Printing
Updated over a week ago

With the Diobox iOS app and a compatible printer, you can wirelessly print badges for each of your guests. This article helps you set up and connect your printer to your iPhone or iPad for the first time.

Before you begin

Determine if you will be connecting to your printer using a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection. Some printers only support Wi-Fi. If your printer supports both methods, pick the method that works best for your event setup.

Connecting via Bluetooth allows one device to connect to the printer at a time. You do not need to add the printer to a Wi-Fi network. Setting up the Bluetooth connection is generally more straightforward than using Wi-Fi.

Connecting via Wi-Fi allows multiple devices to use the same printer at the same time. However, sometimes you may not have control of the Wi-Fi network at an event and either cannot add your printer to the network, or do to not want to for security reasons. If your iPhone or iPad is using Wi-Fi for its Internet connection, then the printer will need to be on the same network also.

Once you connect to a printer, the app remembers the selected printer for this event (different events can have different printers). You will only have to configure your printer again if your setup changes (such as the Wi-Fi network changes.)

Note: The Brother QL-810 and QL-820 printers take several different types of paper. Make sure you are using the DK-2251 paper tape, which supports printing in black and red. See Compatible Paper Tape for more information.

Settings for configuring badges are in Event Tools > Badge Printing.
