With Diobox, you can track when guests leave an event by recording a check-out. This is useful for understanding attendance duration, managing capacity, and analyzing guest flow throughout the event.
How Check-Out Tracking Works
There is no separate native check-out feature, but you can configure this using Event Activities. This allows you to log a check-out as an activity for each guest.
Create an Event Activity named Check Out, then use it to record when a guest leaves. Each entry is stored with its own timestamp, allowing you to track both arrival and departure times for the same guest.
To set this up, go to Event Settings → Event Activities and create a “Check Out” item.
Once created, this activity is available anywhere check-ins are performed, including the mobile app and QR scanner.
Recording a Guest Check-Out
Open a guest profile and click the door icon at the bottom of the page, next to the Check-In button. This opens a list of available Event Activities.
Select the Check Out activity. The button will update to reflect this selection, making it clear which action is being recorded.
After selecting it, clicking the Check Out button logs the guest’s departure time as a separate activity entry in the guest activity section.
Using QR Codes for Check-Out
QR codes can be used to quickly record guest departures.
You can dedicate specific devices to handle check-outs by scanning guest QR codes. On those devices, update the scanner settings to allow repeated scans of the same QR code. By default, scanning the same code more than once will trigger a duplicate alert.
In the QR Scanner Settings:
Set Activity Tracking → Check-Out
Set Handling Duplicates → Never Show Alert
When to Use Check-Out Tracking
Check-out tracking is useful for:
Measuring how long guests stay at your event
Monitoring real-time capacity and crowd flow
Tracking attendance across multi-session or multi-day events
Logging entry and exit for controlled or restricted environments
This setup can be used alongside standard check-ins and other Event Activities to provide a complete view of guest participation.
