Language Templates

Translate or customize the text guests see on your forms, Event Portal and emails.

Language Templates control the terminology and messages guests see throughout your event, including form buttons and labels, confirmation pages and automated emails. With Language Templates, you can:

  • Show your Event Portal and forms in another language.

  • Adapt guest-facing text to match your event's branding and voice.

  • Create a template for a language Diobox doesn't currently support.

  • Assign different templates to individual forms for multilingual events.

Where to Find Language Templates

Go to Event Settings → Language Templates.

You can also open this page from Portal → Overview by clicking Manage Language Templates.

Understanding the Template List

Each row shows one template:

  • Language – the template name. The event's default template has a Default label.

  • Type – Diobox for ready-made templates, or Custom for templates created for your event.

  • Status – Complete when every field has text, or the number of fields still missing. Missing fields are shown to guests in English.

Diobox Templates

Diobox provides ready-made templates in:

  • English

  • French

  • Spanish

  • German

  • Portuguese

  • Dutch

  • Italian

  • Turkish

These templates can't be edited. To change their wording, duplicate one and edit the copy.

Setting the Default Template

The default template is used across your Event Portal, forms and automated emails, unless a form has its own template. If no default has been chosen, English is used.

  1. Click Options next to the template.

  2. Select Set as Default.

Creating a Custom Template

Click New Template and choose one of the following:

  • Duplicate a Template – start from an existing template. Enter a name for the new template and save it. Fields you leave blank are shown to guests in English.

  • Copy from Another Event – copy a template you created in another event in your account. This option is available once your account has at least one other event.

You can also click Options → Duplicate next to any template.

Creating custom templates requires a Corporate plan or higher.

Editing a Template

Click Options → Edit next to a custom template. For Diobox templates, click Options → View to see the wording.

Text is grouped into sections, such as:

  • Guest Confirmation Statuses

  • Form Buttons & Labels

  • Registration Fields and Address Fields

  • Other Phrases used in the Event Portal and guest emails

  • Messages for each form type: Registration Forms, Ticket Forms, RSVP Forms, Waitlist Forms and Survey Forms

  • Communication Preferences, QR Code Messaging and Deferred Guest Registrations

Some sections only appear when the related feature is turned on for your event. When you're done, click Save Template.

Using a Different Template for a Form

For multilingual events, each form can use its own template. For example, you can offer an English and a French registration form for the same event.

The Language section of each form's attributes shows the template the form uses. By default, this is the event's default template.

  1. Create a form, or open an existing form's attributes.

  2. Under Language, click Change Language.

  3. Choose a template, or Use Event Default to follow the event's default template.

  4. Save the form.

Setting a form to a language different from the event's default requires a Corporate plan or higher.

Renaming and Deleting Templates

Click Options next to a custom template, then select Rename or Delete.

A template can't be deleted while it is the event's default or is assigned to a form. Set a different default or change the form's language first.
