The Diobox iOS app allows you to print badges automatically when guests check in, print them on demand, or pre print them in bulk before your event. This guide explains how to configure your device and use each printing method.
Requirements
Before printing badges on site, ensure that:
At least one badge template is created in your event
Your iOS device is connected to a compatible Diobox printer
You are using Diobox iOS app version 6.14 or higher
Once you design your badges in the web app, they automatically appear in the mobile app when you load the event. If you update a badge design, reload the event on your device so the latest version appears.
Note: Badge printing settings are device specific. Each iOS device can have its own preferences, which allows different team members to use different badge templates or printing options.
Auto-Printing Badges on Guest Check-In
You can configure Diobox to print a badge automatically whenever a guest is checked in, regardless of whether they are checked in manually or by scanning their QR code.
To enable auto-print:
1) Open Tools > Badge Printing
2) Enable the Auto-Print on Check-In Toggle
3) Select the badge template you want to use for auto-printing
Any guest checked in on that device will now have their badge printed automatically.
On-Demand Printing
Use on demand printing when you want full control over when a badge is printed, such as reprints or printing only for select guests.
To print a badge for a single guest:
Open the guest profile
Tap the Options button
Select Print Badge
This opens a preview that shows the badge personalized for that guest.
You can switch templates on this screen, and your selection stays active until you change it again.
You can also connect to your printer from this screen if needed.
Bulk Printing
You can pre print badges for all guests or only a selected group.
Step 1. Select Guests
Open the Guests page and select the Options (…) menu near the search bar. You can choose:
Select Multiple
Enables multi-select mode. Tap guests to select them.
Select All
Selects everyone in the current list or filter. Switch to another Guest List first if you only want a specific segment.
Hint: You can also tap and hold on a guest to enter multi-select mode.
Step 2. Open Bulk Actions
Once guests are selected, you will see a counter at the top right. Tap it to open the Bulk Actions dropdown menu.
Select Print Badge.
Step 3. Choose Printer and Template
Select the printer and the badge template you want to use, then tap Continue.
The app will prepare the badges in the background. The time required depends on your device and the number of guests selected.
Step 4. Print the Badges
Tap Print to start printing. A progress bar shows your position in the print queue. You can pause printing at any time if needed.
Tip: For large events, print in batches of about 200 badges to ensure optimal performance.
Important
While printing:
Keep the Diobox app open
Do not switch to another app
Keep the device screen on
Interrupting the app may pause or interrupt the print job.
